We hope everyone who took part enjoyed the 2017 Dunecht Dash.
Despite the cold and windy conditions we had a great turn out, with some notable performances.
Once again the Dunecht Dash organising committee would like to thank all those who took part, the volunteers who helped out (especially the course marshals!) and the Oag family for allowing us to use their home as a HQ for the event.
Special thanks go out to John Carter and Fiona Bick for all their years in organising this event. We hope the 2018 and onwards events can continue the smooth and successful organisation that you have provided enabling this event to be run.
Note for Corporate Sponsors
We recognise that Corporate sponsors are important to the success of our event and believe that the Dunecht Dash ticks many of the relevant boxes concerning CSR objectives:
Frequently asked questions
This is where we hope that we can answer most of the simple questions you may have.
Q: Where is the event held?
A: Both runs are within the beautiful grounds of Dunecht House on mainly private tarmac roads. Car parking and registration is at Dunecht House, near Dunecht Village and will be clearly signposted on the day. Please follow signs from the A944 Aberdeen-Alford road in Dunecht Village.
Q: What time do I have to be there?
A: Registration at Dunecht House 10-11.30am. The 2km fun run starts at 11.30am and the 5km race starts at 12.15pm. Please make sure you register early as you may have a walk to the registration. A site and course map will follow.
Q: Are there any prizes?
A: Yes! For the 2K we have prizes for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd Male and Female U16, U12, U10, U8, U6. For the 5km we have prizes for the 1st SF U35, VF U45, SVet F45+, SM U40, VM U50, SVM 50+.
Q: Can I bring my dog?
A: Unfortunately we had a few irresponsible dog owners over the last few years and dogs are no longer permitted within the estate on the day of the race. A case of a few spoiling it for the many.
Q: Course schematics - What route will I be running?
Entries for the 2018 Dunecht Dash will open January / February 2018.
Please check back early 2018 and get your entries in early.
(The 2017 5km event was full within 15 days of opening, and the 2km shortly after.)
